Course Objectives:   By the end of this course, the participants will be able to:

1.          Describe basic first responder actions.

2.          Isolate and identify the hazardous material.

3.          Describe hazard assessment techniques.

4.          Identify the need for appropriate decontamination.

5.          Describe how to effectively coordinate and communicate with local agencies.

6.          List ways to apply local emergency Contingency Plans.

7.          Explain the need for, types, selection criteria, and limits of protective equipment.

8.          Describe how to utilize the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook to initiate basic action plan.

3.          Hazard assessment techniques

6.          Local emergency plans

7.          Protective clothing and limits
