Course Objectives:   At the end of this course, students will be able to:

1.                    Identify the principles of composition and the principles of documentation.

2.                    Apply these principles to the writing of literary analysis.

3.                    Practice outline, development, revision, editing and documentation.

4.                    Express ideas and opinions in response to literature in correct composition structure with appropriate diction and correct grammar and syntax.

 

Course Content and Scope:  Review and practice of the composition principles taught in English 110 and 120 and as applied to literary analysis essays and term papers produced for sophomore (200 series) courses.  Especially created for use on Study Abroad programs.

 

Methods of Instruction:  Lecture, discussion, cooperative tasks, tests and essays.

 

Required Assignments:  As applicable to associated course work.

 

Methods of Evaluation:   Demonstration via tests or essays of the principles and as applicable to associated course work.  Grading to be Credit/No Credit.

 

Appropriate Texts and Supplies:   As applicable to associated course work.
